Key word
We use keyword or Keyword phrase for searching through search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo, AOL and many more to look for services, products we need and service provider or others offers, to do competitor analysis and many more
Keywords are generally small, mid size; large sized i.e. keyword or keyword phrase. Mid size keyword phrase are more profitable, key words provide targeted Traffic.
Keyword is two types
Informational keywords-- keyword which provide information about the site to the visitors,
Transaction keywords---- this is that which attract the visitor to move further steps, buying, using the service
Comparison or review type keywords---- this are the keywords which are used to provide comparison with the competitors, asking visitors to provide their reviews
How to do Keyword search
We can do keyword research in two ways i.e.
1. Slower option,
2. Faster option
Slower options—we can do manual research
Faster method------ simply using the keyword research tools
Let’s first go with manual keyword research (huge list, short list)
Ways we can fallow through this method is
Keywords collection:
List every word you might think that people would type to find the product, service we provide. Verifying with other, use thesaurus.com to find the synonyms for the targeted keyword for further research
Create keyword phrase:
This can be done by combining the keywords you have with along with some relevant words
That will explain your service or product, you can also ask your friends to search for your services and products and find the competitors of you, and enquire with them how they had found them, as “same thing can be done in different way by different individuals”

Google trends--- using this tool we can gather a keyword usage based on seasons, regions, time, categories, language and many other ways

And the easiest way to get traffic oriented keywords is borrowing key word from your competitor’s sites; this can be done in two ways
1. Enter the URL of competitor instead of keyword in Google keyword tool in the field of website
2. Find the Meta keywords of your competitors site by going to source code of the site by using Ctrl+u
After going onto the competitors website
We can also find some more keywords ---misspelled keywords which may bring extra traffic for the site
Example: Onlinetraiings, onlne trainings
We can even get some keywords----- localization of keywords
Example: online training from Hyderabad, online training India
We can further gather by plural forms, -Ed forms, and singular forms of the keywords we use
Now we have keywords with us
Now its time to shortlist the keywords, and rate them this can be done using Rank tracker

For calculating above we need three factors Relevancy (R), Search Volume (SV), Competition (C)
KEI = ((4-R)/3)*((SV*SV)/C)
Relevancy(R): Excellent, good, poor when finding relevancy with the services we offer, products we provide
Search Volume (SV): the no of queries made for the keyword per month, this can be found by using Google add word tool
Process to fallow while calculating Search volume using Google add words
1. Copy and paste all the keywords we have selected
2. Select the desired match on the left (region, language, season, category and many more options found)
3. Matches desired
Exact match --- what exactly we had provided to scan for i.e. same order, same word
Broad match----individual keywords in phrase, different order, and many other
Finally phrase----- exactly same order as in key parse and along with additional words along with it
Competition(C): how many webpage’s/web sites rank for the keyword
We can gather info manually by using the keyword for querying in any search engines and gather the no of competitors for that key word that can be seen on Google page when we query the keyword
Now we have to calculate KEI
Sort the data as per KEI,
Major five ---- important and top for which we can optimize our website
Next 20-30----- these are the keywords for which we can optimize by using as combination with major keywords
Next 60 keywords----- supplement keywords for which we can optimize in future, future use
Separate different set of keywords with different colors in spread sheets
